This video, in dramatic style, puts you into the driver's seat and shows you how difficult it is for the lift truck operators to see pedestrians. The video then outlines simple ways pedestrians can help lift truck drivers see them - and avoid a serious or fatal accident.

  • I told my HR about this after I sent this to her at work. What a great vid to show for Plant wide meetings, safety meetings, etc.. Unfortunatley , my HR told me she could not show this because my company will not let vid's be shown from YOU TUBE! but any way, she sent it directly to her home comp to view. Thanks Karen!!!

  • great awareness videos, these need to be edited and played on National TV for the average workplace.

  • Try safety products by Collision Awareness, see video, search "look out collision awareness", and learn about an affordable product to help prevent fork truck collisions.

  • the thing is a lotta forklift drivers are ignorant, and arent properly trained, 2 bad things that cause lots of accidents

  • dont let your employer tell you to go faster than you feel safe going

and pedestrians are stupid and unpredictable so assume the worst, they like to cut infront of you spontaneously, and hop outta blind spots foolishly, etc.

use the horn at blind spots and drive slow, and make sure any near pedestrians know your there with the horn and eye contact

  • The Number 1 rule of fork safety is to use your HORN!!! common sense and it would avoid a nasty accident. especially in a timber yard when visibilty is bad, and people are walking around....come on guys....!!! when i was being trained for a forklif licence, i was shown to use the horn and drive slowly in a busy area....

  • I'm about to go for a forklift certification course. Any tips you can give me would be much appreciated.

I've been watching all sorts of forklift videos on youtube, esp. what NOT to do.

  • I'm about to take a course in getting a forklift certificate.

Any tips you can give me would be apprciated.

  • Has anyone considered redesigning forklifts so that visibility is improved? (i.e. so that forklift drivers would only have to reorient themselves when picking up a load that would be positioned behind them driving.)
