Shes so smart. I'm not a huge fan of the music style, but I love how individual she is, how she obviously knows what shes talking about and wants to get a message across.

@jjoeshaw Her music is a strange stew, but it's been edging the pop charts for years. Pop music covers many genres, and if you hear it on pop radio, which I have, it's gotta be pop music. You have to be, or your music won't get played on those stations.

@LateNightCable Her genre isn't pop though. Paper planes isn't pop, it's alternative. Her other songs are either electronic, hip-hop and sometimes even rock.

@jjoeshaw And she wouldn't be featured in Madonna's pop song if she weren't at least mainstream. Paper Airplanes is definitely pop and a bunch of her other songs, even though I'm not familiar with all of them as I'm not a fan. Pop music derives it's name from popular. If she weren't a mainstream pop performer, nobody would know who she is, and Rolling Stone would never mention her, that's for sure. That's as pop as you can get.

@LateNightCable She isn't mainstream pop. Have you never heard any of her songs from kala or arular? Even "bad girls" isn't pop! It's not Taylor Swift either, I never said it was. The reason she sang at the super bowl with madonna was because she was featured in that song.
