The Beat Boys - Cavern Wall of Fame (video)
The Beat Boys - Cavern Wall of Fame (ukfm film archive 2010)
In 1997 The Beat Boys (RGM-Decca) were officially recognised on 'The Cavern Club Wall of Fame' in Liverpool, England for their wonderful cellar rock&roll concerts during the early part of the swinging Sixties. The engraved brick facade to The Cavern Pub was declared open to the national press by their old friend Gerry Marsden and former Cavern cloakroom girl Cilla Black. It remains on free outdoor display on Mathew Street to this very day. The Beat Boys are very proud of the honour and thank all their fans deeply from the heart. Ronnie Carr (bass/vocals) ''We played the real old Cavern cellar with it's dripping walls and horrible smells. We also played the Casbah Coffee Club in West Derby before that on a few occasions too. Great times.''
Performing the folk-rock standard 'The House of the Rising Sun'. This rare live band footage features 'Beat Boys' band members Ronnie Carr, Kenny Fillingham and Malc Grundy and gives a spontaneous golden glimpse of the band performing at a secret function around the time of the Cavern 'wall of fame' honour in '97.
Enjoy!
