@sugaplumalex The noise is only if you use continuous autofocus. You can turn it off (and it is off by default).

hi! k so i have the nikon d3100 too but whenever i upload it to youtube, the quality option only goes up to 720, not 1080 ):

on your video, 1080 is available :D i use imovie and i choose the hd choice when i do the publish to youtube thing..

so like how did you do that? could you explain? sorry haha

@jacobkathykatrina Hi, this was uploaded straight from the camera, so uploading the raw video file from the memory card to YouTube, no iMovie or anything else in between. The other option is, are you sure the camera is set to record in full 1080p in the menu settings?

@c4ginn sorry, but the 550d doesn't have continuous autofocus in video mode.

@cnetaucamcorders hi thanks for the reply. i tried getting the video with the focus set to AF-F. I still cannot achieve the focus changes on a different subject as i move the camera from left to right and vice versa without pressing the shutter button. there must be something wrong with my D3100. :-(

@duo65 No, it's automatic. Once you set it to AF-F mode it will focus by itself during video recording.

@sugaplumalex External mic fixes it, mute the sound and its not as bad looking but with the sound it really pumps up the visual of the focusing and while not as smooth as a video camera or a camera like the nex5 its still not too bad

Hey there, sorry to ask, but I'm getting a Nikon D3100 soon, and as I'm new to digital SLR cameras like this, I would just like to know if this video was made using the camera as it came in the box.. ie, original lens that comes with it etc.. and if so could you please tell me what settings? thankyou very much
