Hey, good for you. He'll be an excellent, loyal friend to you. Pointers are intelligent and quick learners. You don't need to shout when training, they respond better to quiet but firm commands and lots of affection for good behaviour. They tend to like routine in their lives too.

I just adopted a 3 month old pointer a week ago. He's already so well behaved...and quite the lap dog too.

When they lay into you that means they are hugging you and need for you to hug and kiss them back. Pointers have the softess skin, the sweetest kiss. They are very sensitive, you just need to speak to them softly. Looks like you are good to Sadie. Make sure that she has a nice warm soft bed, play with her often.......before you know it she will be old and your time together will have passed too quickly. My Odie passed at 19-20 yrs on July 12, 2010 and my heart still aches. Enjoy each day

@ofcelticblood Sorry to hear about Odie. This is not a recent video, she is 12yrs old now but just as wonderful. The recent snow has been especially fun for her :)

Just a question, is your dog an inside dog?

No, she is very much an outside dog.

As you can see from the video, she's in training to be a ferocious killer ;)
