Krav Maga was born in the middle of the 40s by Imi Lichtenfeld (ZL) in Israel.

The conception of Krav Maga reveals a path that enables anyone to exert their right to life, even with the violence that surrounds us. It is the only fighting technique with a worldwide recognition as an art of self defense and not as a martial art. There are no rules or competitions, because the techniques envision self-defense in real-life situations. With simple, fast and objective responses to violent daily life situations, it shows the common citizen how to defend himself, regardless of his physical conditioning, age or sex. With a military origin, its application in security forces has been incorporated by corporations all over the world because of its efficiency in combat.

  • Sort of. You aren't trying to kill people. You're trying to prevent being killed and stay alive.

One of the principles of Krav Maga is "get the fuck out of there"

  • They say it can be used by any person of any fitness, etc... but I still have yet to see a shorter Krav Maga practitioner in demonstrations. I'd like to see the ways they get leverage and use shorter stature to an advantage.

  • Krav MAga is an isrealy fighting technique that there anti terrosrist units use and so does there millitary. It has been proven to be the most effective combat known.

  • haha ya thats about 100 % right

i love krav maga cause its applicable to real situations as apposed to sho lin karate where u learn complicated and complex secqences excuse my spelling.

i have studied akidio krav maga and sho lin karate, and i must say krav maga is probably the best if you want be prepaired for real life scencarios

  • He knees a guy in the groin and lands multiple punches in his his head. If this was a real fight, the opponent would not jump up and fight again. You have a great opportunity to either run away or make sure he is unable to get up again...

  • just for the record every IDF soldier fighter learn krav maga in the army

This is why we are the best of the best

  • @Picklesurprise1 Get the fuck up lol. They teach ground fighting techniques but with the focus of getting back up to your feet and disabling the opponent on the way if possible rather than going for locks and submissions.

  • it's available to the public

  • Sorry if I'm responding a little late, but from what I've read on the program the fitness training required for it will benefit you just as much as the fighting, which I guess you're not really going to find much use for outside of being attacked. Classes last around an hour or so. You'll probably want to go to at least 2 or 3 classes a week. Hope that helped a little. I'm hoping to start taking classes very soon.

  • They teach you that too. Ground work and grappling stuff.
