BTW polar bear meat is very good to eat. Lots of protein, very little fat, and the skins and fur have many important uses.

It actually depends on which "politician" you listen to and who they want backing them. In reality polar bears are making a very strong comeback and they are not on the endangered list anymore. With careful regulation and responsible hunting they will continue to flourish.
