The price of basic commodities in Egypt is hitting millions of people hard.
Those who could once afford to buy bread from regular supermarkets, are now being forced to rely on government subsidised bakeries.
The huge increase in demand has resulted in unprecedented queuing and violence, with at least 10 people being killed.

Mubarak most certainly is a crook, but the main problem is population growth. A doubling of population in just 60 years is a disaster waiting to happen.

when foreigners were in Egypt this did not happened Nasser kicked them all out you people multiplied many with multiple wives breading like rats what do you expect there were a lot of work when foreigners were there i could see this happening way back in early 1960`s sad to say that it came true

the monetary system has to go! Its supressing so many people. I would gladly trade all my bread for egyptian dates and fruits.
