Sixteen year old Miles Davis is a lucky guy. The teen, who plays left wing on his high school's basketball team, was stricken last March when a suspected heart virus caused his heart to fail. Suddenly, he couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without getting our of breath. After months of medications and treatments, he is one of the youngest people to get a cardiac assist device called a LVAD, or left ventricular assist device. Now he's back in school, hanging with friends and feeling great. Miles and his Dad share their family's experiences in 2008 and their hopes for 2009.
Hello, my son also had cardiac virus that attaacked his heart this April. He was 17 when he suddenly dropped with heart failure. He also has the LVAD. He also faces a brain injury due to lack of oxygen during the heart failure. Thanks for your story. I hope that you can regain the the usage of your heart once again.

Eating healthy is not only for the old , but for the young. Teach our children early in life how to eat fresh veggies, lean meat and plenty of garlic. God bless you and keep the angels above you always. You are in my prayers and can't wait to see you and your kids in the future. :) gbl
