Using IrfanView's batch command to resize 85 JPG images.
1. Open batch dialogue and add a folder of 85 images
2. Set the JPG compression options to estimate the orignal compression setting
3. Set the advanced batch options to resize to 1024 pixels wide
4. Use resampling for better qaulity - Lancoz3 will be used
5. Start the batch operation using the output folder saved from last time
6. Don't overwrite existing files (optinal, but lbest left enabled)

The video shows how long it takes in real time to convert 85 medium sized JPG images from Serif™ PagePlus template image collection. The total size is not much different to the source images - some are bigger, some smaller.
