Community Sailing Program

No matter your skill level, you will find sailing at Mystic Seaport an unequaled experience. Our adult and youth courses touch on all abilities and are offered to make it convenient for you. Custom-designed programs are available too.

Community Sailing instructors at Mystic Seaport are experienced sailors who have been certified through either the United States Sailing Association or American Red Cross for sailing, safety, boat operation, first aid and CPR.

The majority of class time is spent on the water. The remaining instruction takes place in the classroom. Classes use Dyer Dhows or JY15s. All equipment, except foul-weather gear, is provided. Competent swimmers ages 15 and older may enroll in adult classes. Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a health and registration form.
