Footage taken from a Finnish program Tilt.tv on MTV3. The video has been recorded with Nokia N70 cellphone. There are no English subtitles [see the update #3!], but at least one gets to hear the beautiful Finnish language and see the real-life Max Payne talking. Excuse my cat for meowing in the background ;)

Update! I found out that Tilt.tv shows its reviews and gamestyle sections also from its own pages. There are loads of game material in that page. Alan Wake is 35-06 Gamestyle. So here is the address:

http://www.tilt.tv/?cm=tiltplayer

Update 2 (E3 2009): Release date for this game is in spring 2010.

Update 3. (January 23rd 2010) I decided to make subtitles after all! Better late than never. I must admit, though, that the information in this footage is quite old. Especially the level of freedom is the biggest mystery. "Open world tech", it is now. But what is that?

Update 4. (May 5th 2010). It seems like that "open world tech" doesn't mean a whole lot. Because according to some of the recent reviews, Alan Wake is a quite linear game. So the challenges mentioned in this footage were probably too big. So Remedy decided to make another type of game.

  • New footage shown in E3 2009. Seems to be quite scary and atmospheric. Great. But the release date is still far away. In spring 2010. Bummer.

  • Remedy and Microsof missed the opportunity to show us something in Game Developers Conference 2009 in San Fransisco.

Maybe they will show us something in E3 2009. But then again, so will many others.

What Remedy and/or Microsoft fail to understand is this: If the game is good enough, then hype would not ruin it. I begin to feel stupid, because I have waited this game for so long.

  • Finally Remedy has released some new information. They have even updated the official homepage of Alan Wake. This is great!

  • Still no information about this game. It may not be even 2008 title. I think that it is wrong that they will not release any information about this game. Listen to me Remedy and Microsoft. Give us something.

  • speak ******* english!

  • Come on. Remedy is a Finnish company. Allow them to speak in their mother tongue. :)

  • now the sequel is out for dlc too!

  • Post im getting this game

  • It looks promising

  • Microsoft have said that they have a trick up their sleeve for E3 this year. Im pretty sure it's Alan Wake.

I also wanted some info at GDC, but Remedy has a plan, and i trust it's a good one. The game is comming, you just have to wait until E3 =)

  • I don't care how long they take, they may take as much time as they can afford to pay wages, 7 years, 10 years, doesn't matter.
