This is a response to Suzanne42's video about feeling left behind. I just wanted to put in my two cents about this. It seems like when we live with chronic illness, the world goes on and we're kind of stuck watching it go by but unable to fully participate and people kind of forget about us. Thanks for talking about this, Suzanne.

  • You are so right on. I was at the top of my profession, disabled by this disease. Every day I look at envy on the people, healthy, living the life I had. I believe that our new friends are more likely people with the disease who are living the same experience so we can relate. That's why UTUBE and other support group are key to keep fighting on. Please consider me on of those friends, Hang in there!

  • I feel so blessed to be finding a group of people here on YouTube that had a sense of understanding. I have other online groups for Lyme and my other conditions but there's something about connecting with faces and voices that's more powerful.

    Thank you!

  • I work around a lot of people who are not sick but thankfully these days I find myself able to do a fair amount of the work that I used to do. However, when I'm done, I'm DONE, y'know? I used to socialize quite a bit after work but I can't do that anymore. Folks think" but you looked so good at work today"... they don't realize that that was every bit of effort that I could muster. It's tough. Like you said, "We have to do what we have to do." Or not do, as the case may be.

  • I find that people just don't understand that there are days when we just cannot do anything extra. My roommate (who I'm not on good terms with anymore) has asked me to take her dog out for a quick walk before and I say, "If I'm up to it." She gets a big attitude and starts going on about how I don't have to take him on a long walk, etc. She just doesn't understand that the issue isn't really the length of the walk but just whether I can manage a single other thing when I get home!

  • Hi there! Nice video response! I was wondering what the difference is between iv doxy and oral doxy. Is the iv version supposed to be more effective? Difference in side effects?? Thanks! Suzanne

  • I guess the difference would be that IV gets into the nervous system better and is more potent since it doesn't have to be absorbed through the GI tract to be utilized. I can't tolerate oral Doxy because it upsets my stomach really badly (to the point where I vomit every dose back up) and the IV form has been good for me because it's pretty good against Lyme (& Bartonella) and it's less expensive than a lot of other IV antibiotics. Side effects for me are much less IV than oral.

    Happy Weekend!

  • Hi there, thanks so much for posting this video response. I appreciate your doing so, and it's good to hear another perspective. Hang in there, and keep posting videos when you can. I'm behind, and plan on posting another one this week. Smiles and hugs! Suzanne

  • your very welcome

  • In high school, I was somewhat connected to friends through some school-related things (even though I was mostly homeschooled once I got sick - not because I was sick, just good timing that it worked out that way). But in college it was really hard for me to connect with people and make new friends. And that has continued. So most of my friends either date back to high school (or before) or are other people who are sick. It's okay with me, I just really wish people could understand better.

  • Thanks for sharing the video. I know what you mean. I was sick since I was a child and had to work extra hard to keep up. I cant believe it took so many years to find out what was wrong with me. Keep up the fight.

  • I wish I was drinking a Pacifico, eating the sushi I just caught! Rats!!! I got left behind too. Will every one take a moment to help me manisfest this...Please dont forget to think Yacht when you invision me reelin' . Thanks. J
