We sing songs about our freedom
We always keep them in our prayers
We wave our flags and bow our heads
Support our Soldiers over there
But all across this nation
Probably right in your home town
There's a group of weary Soldiers
With their world turned upside down
We asked them for their lives and they agreed

I was driving down the road the other day and saw a vietnam vet holding up a sign that said, ''homeless vietnam vet, need food''. Picked him up and took him to a breakfast buffet and gave him 100 dollars for the road. It was the day i had just gotten discharged from the US Navy so we had a nice chat, a genuine good person.

i'm a woman vet on 20% disablity. what do i do when the pain is so bad i can't work? i'm already on pain meds. they work, for now.  i'm a cook, i'm no good at anything else. but i'm scared. i'm only 35. i was told, you take a desk job, you'll be in a wheelchair cuz the pain will keep you there. who's gonna help me? the ones from iraq see too much already. i'll be lost cuz i haven't seen what they have.
