Well senator, I am just a dumb engineer, but what you say is perfectly clear to me. Considering that your friends across the aisle were smart enough to get elected, I assume they have at least some basic level of understanding of economics. But they seem to be oblivious to the fact that the account is empty.

Most Congressmen have their background in law and not economics. Most Congressmen couldn't tell a Phillips curve from a Phillips screw driver. They are economic illiterates.
