  • Well senator, I am just a dumb engineer, but what you say is perfectly clear to me. Considering that your friends across the aisle were smart enough to get elected, I assume they have at least some basic level of understanding of economics. But they seem to be oblivious to the fact that the account is empty.

  • Most Congressmen have their background in law and not economics. Most Congressmen couldn't tell a Phillips curve from a Phillips screw driver. They are economic illiterates.
