Ultra light fishing for golden trout

@scottisko0L Good lord... I'm not sure if you're quite bright enough to grasp all this, Scott (given your inability to read the previous posts and your ignorance of spell checkers) but, yes, I DO actually catch and eat fish. I also subscribe to catch and release sustainability WHERE IT IS WARRANTED. I've been appalled on NUMEROUS occasions, observing rabid catch and release anglers mishandle fish that come floating belly up an hour later, usually while they're bragging about their numbers...

I'm very disappointed that after discovering something so wonderful, you would post it here. That wonderful thing will be gone very soon if you continue to do this. Some of our most fond memories of fishing are from this area. It makes me sad to see it exploited like this. The reproduction percentage in this lake is very low, and even taking 1 golden per day will have a large impact...believe it or not. Please show some respect for one of our last great resources in the United States.

@bshettel wasn't knockin your style of fishin, just observing, should have complemented your great catch, but i was to busy daydreaming of my two weeks in the winds, we'll see if i can fit this spot in, but, with all the trout up there planning a summer long trip would be tough.....good luck in the future, and thanks for promoting catch and release where warranted on certain trophy lakes, trust me i wish some anglers understood how some catch and kill really helps, just doing our part

@BMunich16 Not to fan the flames, but the goldens are still there waiting to be caught. Don't blame successful anglers for your inability to bring one to the net. And read the rest of the posts and replies. This lake is a hell of a reproducer, with the vast majority of the fish dying of old age or predation. Your 'holier than thou' attitude has no place in civilized dialogue. As stated before, I fish catch and release when conditions on the ground warrant.

@steelheadbully Yeah... that WAS a fairly calm day... I'm old and have entirely given up even bringing fly gear into the Winds. I've had way too many days of standing around waiting for half an hour for that one little pause in the wind that lets me cast a fly line. And the vast majority of goldens I catch are ones I see and cast to. They never seem to hang around until the wind stops for me... ;-)
BTW, nice steelheads! I didn't even know they ran in Lake Erie...
Good to see another KBD if im correct?

@OutdoorsmenAlberta Aha... she's not a Karelian... she's a border collie/blue heeler. She can solo work a bear as well as a pair of Karelians, though. She is fast as hell, and can heel the bears, getting in and out so fast they can't get to her. She simply drives them bats, and lets them run off. She's run off a big ol' 400 pound boar, and on a different occasion, a 200 lb. sow WITH a cub. Cub was up a tree, so I just backed off and called off Kacey. Mom backed off...

@bshettel She definitely has some girth to her hence why I thought she might be a Karelian

@OutdoorsmenAlberta She says she's offended... girth? ;-) Actually, heelers, as a general rule, ARE pretty chunky. She scales in at 45 lbs. I use her for skijoring in the winter. She's been one of the hardiest dogs I've ever had. Also, the most recalcitrant... :-)
