i think the creators of the game created this setting for a purpose, alot of businesses and big advertisers are bringing forth the possibility of drought, war, death. sadly barely anyone cares, seems inevitable, but they try.

Why does every single video game get comments that it looks like Halo? You know, this may be hard for you to understand, but Halo was *not* the first FPS. Besides, there's no vehicle, weapon, or soldier that looks remotely like anything from Halo.
