This video introduces the alto and tenor clefs and provides advice on how to identify notes on these staves. The video also details the layout of key signatures on both staves paying particular attention to the tenor clef which, for key signatures with sharps, is laid-out rather differently.
This video can be viewed without previous knowledge of keys and clefs but it may help to watch my videos on:
a) The Circle of Fifths - the circle of fifths is a device which can be used to calculate keys
b) Transposition Part 1 - (from 2mins 40secs) as there is some useful information relating to 'middle c' which is discussed in this video.
Great video. I think it would be great to have one that focuses only on alto clef (like the treble and bass videos) for beginning violists.

the one that I use is: Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle. It also is good for flats: Battle Ends And Down Goes Charles' Father. It's great because it works both ways so you only have to remember one acronym. Hope this is useful for anyone!
