Actually, a few Fleetstars did make it into 1978, but the majority of trucks sold that year were of its replacement, the S/F-2500 series (2520 gas engine, 2550 mid-range diesel and 2570 heavy-duty diesel).

can i work the truck summer time?

the CAT im my service truck (C15) tops out at 2450.

If the engine in your truck is a 6V-92TA 335 hp, would it sound just as bad because of this truck's exhaust setup?

Yeah, doesn't sound too rapped out. I myself have driven at work the International Fleetstar with the 2600 rpm engine in it. How I know? It constantly gets rapped out at 2600 rpm with a full load. I love how high end the power band sits on these old diesels. You try this with the modern ones (I'm talking about all stock over the road diesels, and your in redline, possibly taking a chance blowing dem up; I think their red lines start just over 1700. Naw, I'll take the old bangers for sure!

Most 71 Series Dee Dees were governed for 2,100 rpm (max full load rpm was set at 2,300).
Sorry guys I screwed up, its not an 1978 its a 1976 (I Just looked at the door tag)
