Message From the President - Whittington W. Clement

As President of the Virginia Law Foundation for 2009-10, I welcome you to our website.

Here you will learn about our mission to promote through philanthropy the rule of law, access to justice, and law-related education. Also, you will learn about our grants which have, since 1985, supported hundreds of law-related public service projects across the Commonwealth. For the last thirteen or fourteen years, we have derived all of our support --and our grant making ability-- solely from private donations and investment income. Our continued success is dependant upon those who believe in our mission and help us financially.

We currently are working to better define our place in the legal community and to determine how our grant funds may best be used to benefit the people of the Commonwealth. We do so with the help if Virginia lawyers, like-minded organizations, our grantees, and our donors.
