This is why I love old Country Music from the 1950s and early 1960s. I'm a Drinking an Ice cold one and blasting this !!.

Aww Haww!!I had some cousins who lived in Louisiana
and I learned about Fats Domino and Doug Kershaw from them.
It ain't easy being a Southeast Texas guy in North Texas but I try.

LISTEN TO THAT FIDDLE, NOT EXACTLY UR TYPICAL R&R CLASSIC, IT LEANS MORE ON THE SIDE OF rOCKABILLY OR COUNTRY. BACK WHEN MANY COUNTRY SONGS MADE THE POP CHARTS AND JOHNNY CASH WAS BIG BUT NOW WE HAVE OUR VERY OWN COUNTRY STATION (CJJR), SO COUNTRY MUSIC IS RESTRICTED TO THAT STATION (HA). yES lOUISIANNA MAN HIT THE TOP 40 HERE IN Vancouver canada but didn't make the top 10 or was it played at the highschool sock hop. It's a great song however and was worth the listen. Thx4 postin'

re: mstevens141 - I believe the track you are after may just be called "Mister Love", at least that is the title on my Rusty & Doug LP. Sleeve notes show it was originally recorded March 6th 1956 and included Chet Atkins amongst the backing artists.

Does anyone out there have the old Rusty and Doug record "Please Mister Love"? I grew up listening to Rusty and Doug and my dad played the fiddle. My sister and I used to sing Please Mister Love and harmonize just like Rusty and Doug. I love them!! Thanks for puting this on Youtube to bring back loving memories.....

The 'Pozo-Seco Singers' do a great job on this song too.

oh indeed this is the best version.

@swtypieln I remember this song well and I know it charted high. I lived in Chicago and if it was popular that far north it had to be popular everywhere. Either way great song.
The best version of that famous song...I love it
