  • Lovely record with Bowlly on top form..Noble was using mainly Lew Stone and Carroll Gibbons musicians, which is curious as Gibbons rarely played hot,but under Noble they excelled..l live just up the road from the EMI studios and it always drive me mad, when l drive by each day with all those Beatles fans everywhere, and no recognition for this wonderful band

  • @davidglow3

Beetles's fans don't know Fats Waller recorded there too... they got together at 3 Saville Row as well where Apple Records was. David, bty, have you ever been in Hayes where the recording studios were located?

  • Great! I love it when the bass kicks in at 2:02.

  • I want Al's autograph!

  • Just a darn good blend of orchestra and vocal to enjoy.......

  • @lindyhoppers Frustrating thing is l don't know the actual address so cannot locate..Been to ugly Hayes many times..l live in West Hampstead London which is where Decca had their first proper recording studios..This means that Al and Lew Stone's band and Roy Fox and Spike Hughes etc etc all had to go there in order to record..l have imagined them getting off the tube and turning left in Broadhurst Gardens NW6 many times. The ghosts of yesteryear still give me goosebumps when l pass by everyday
