Amazing. One man can pick Merle Travis with a thumbpick, and then switch to a flatpick and hit those hot Joe Maphis speed licks.

Ditto! Surprised more people havn't commented. 1973. I was 22; had heard Doc's "Sittin' on Top of the World" on an FM rock station of all places. Next thing I know they're coming to my home town to play at our High School. Best concert I ever saw was on a basketball court!
Long live Doc & RIP Merle.
