Wow much an amazing voice! Really want to sing this song but its a bit low, anyone know where i can get a higher backing track?

@Jamison850 no it's not lol. Easier, but not easy if you're doing it right. I always find that the emotion is the difficult bit.

Very interesting. This was almost 2yrs before the Les Mis O2 Concert. And while the voice is there, the "text" isn't quite yet, the "story" of the lyrics. But even here, Alfie has slowed down the tempo, his version of "Bring Him Home" is the longest of any of the Valjeans. That allows him to get in every nuance and vocal shading he can into the melody and lyrics, and slows our "time sense."
Wonder if this is one of the things Cameron saw before offering him the role?

@lachlunn I don't think this is due to "too much classical training", in fact there is nothing like that, the classical training is only the foundation of the singing technique, you can go hear Anthony Warlow who actually started off as an opera baritone and sang as Papageno in Mozart's Magic Flute singing "bring him home", that tone and emotion is just gorgeous due to his classical training. Alfie Boe in this performance here feels like he's still not very certain about what he's singing yet.

@RosesNightengales Understandable he has such a beautiful voice! He sings this so beautifully and this song means so much to so many, it is sung the way it should be sung like the others who sang it on the 25th Anniversary. I will be buying the cd of the four Val Jeans when it is out in aid of our armed forces! I don't understand the snobbery about him tho because I thought it was right emotionally!

@Numaness That was really a first time I ever cried during this show. My mom had to calm me down and i turned away from the screen and just cry but I was still listening to him sing. I love this concert. It was really good.

@RosesNightengales same here beautiful rendition!

Also, I'd like to mention that his performance at the 25th was the only standing ovation of the show.
His version of this song just about brought me to tears when I saw the Les Mis 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2. Personally, Boe is up there in the Top 3 to ever sing this song along with Colm Wilkinson and John Owen Jones.
