Rep. Price Peddles Mistruths About GOP Alternative

Appearing with Greta Van Susteren, Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), who has called the Democratic health reform bill "legislative malpractice," discussed the scored GOP alternative bill. Price, a physician and a member of the GOP Doctors Caucus, has been one of the most vocal opponents of true health care reform, and strongly advocates for alternatives that would do little in the way of insuring the uninsured. Asked about the GOP alternative, Price glossed over some inconvenient parts of the alternative bill.

Why don't you do your own research? It's out there. Republicans haven't even a clue as to how much their bill would cost. It's called a "red herring" and is meant to falsely display that Republicans "care" about reform, when in fact, the status quo suits them just fine.

I think he answered the question great. You can't estimate how many people are going to buy Health Insurance if it got more affordable. He says "we'll bring down the cost" not "we'll force xx,000,000 people to be on it."

And for the record. I love Obama's Health Care plan. I love it when the government takes my tax dollars and forces everybody on the plan, and if you don't pay you get punished. It's how the world should be. I want Food tax too.

Greta asks "how many people would your plan cover?". Of course Price didn't answer the question. In fact every time she asks a question, he dodges it.

It's too bad she didn't ask him if he supported ending Medicare as a government program. He would have put on quite a show in trying to avoid saying yes. He does want to end Medicare, there's a great YouTube video in which he all but says so.

Price sounds so reasonable but his plan would not increase the percentage of Americans who would have insurance.

Bush had more czars than Obama, but that's forgotten by the "liberal" media. I looked at the Bill of Rights on that website and they paraphrase all the amendments, not just two. That doesn't mean they rewrote the constitution...

I used to support Congressman Paul until I found out he was a theocrat, and I don't take kindly to religion trying to take my government over. I know our dollar is being devalued! It's because we ended up borrowing over $5 TRILLION over Bush's two terms. The Fed dropped the interest rate at the behest of Bush & company, because, like tax cuts, Republicans view low interest rates as one of the only things that can spur our economy, i.e. Reaganomics.
