Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina) lays a clutch of eggs in the same spot as every year on Good Hope Island. She uses her front legs to start the job, then excavates a deep hole with her hind legs. After laying over two dozen eggs, she buries the nest with her hind legs, and heads back to her River home. Nest is left unattended, and babies hatch in about three months.
