Society does like to watch " darker " shows, but that's just because an average person doesn't see someone else being disemboweled everyday in normal life. However, watching shows like the west wing does not show you how to become president. My Main Question is, Why the hell would Dexter be Black? Not only would that not fit into the show, but also would be statistically WRONG. Since 1950 there have been around 400 serial killers only 50 have been African American. That's about 8%.

Let me answer to you. Dexter is a successful show because first of all, the plot is great. The actors fit their roles. Also, watching the life of a serial killer is pretty interesting. Watching how his mind works. It really is a great show. If you had watched the show you wouldn't have any dumb questions. And this "what if his was african american?" bullshit is pretty stupid.
