One of the foremost public health and gay rights activists in the U.S., Larry Kramer joins Jonathan Katz of the Larry Kramer Initiative at Yale and Todd Pittinsky of CPL to discuss his life as a leader, the challenges faced, and the future of his work.
I am thankful for Larry Kramer. I spent years hating myself and allowed others to hate me. I spent years running from myself and trying to be something or someone else. I read a speech from Larry Kramer, which lead me to his writings and plays. His angry words and questions woke me up from my coma of self loathing. His words allowed me to examine my own life and to understand that being angry is a power that must be used. I am grateful for his spirit and energy.
