Great commercial. My dad bought a new one in 1969 and I drove it a lot as an 18 year old. Fast enough and indestructible although the little things like door handles were problematic. The vinyl interior didn't retain any of that funny smelling smoke neither.

That commercial itself was a refreshing bit of "Rebel"-lion against the look-alike TV commercials of GM, Ford and Chrysler of those years!

This commercial is hilarious!
Rrrrt...rrrrt...rrrrt...rrrrt!
"OK, turn left...AAAAAAAAH, NOT HERE!"
"Mr. Moss? Mr. Moss? Mr. Moss?"
"Look out for that truck!!!"
"WHAT truck?"
"Behind the bus!!!"
"WHAT bus?"
BTW, in TV Guide's special issue featuring "The 50 Greatest TV Commercials Of All Time" (July 3-9, 1999), this ranked at #33. Classic!

This is a great ad. I remember watching it on Tarrant on TV on UK TV.

I believe the driving instructor is Steven Hill, later the first DA on Law & Order. Too funny.
