There's only been three acts that I cared enough about to actually pursue meeting: the late Harry Chapin, Ryuichi Sakamoto and The Turtle Island Quartet. I met the TIQ in Pennsylvania in late 2009, got all their autographs on my program (which I framed and hung in my home office) and got to talk to the guys for about 15 minutes. They played on a rainy evening in front of about 50 people, but treated it like the most important concert of the year. I have true respect for these great guys.
Anytime this group comes anywhere within 100 miles of me, I am there. Definitely a fan of these guys. They are all brilliant musicians, intelligent, sensitive, disciplined, creative, dynamic, passionate, love them, love them, love them. I am surprised they don't have more fans because the concerts that I have gone to had many empty seats.
