Congressman Keith Ellison's Forum on Solving the Health Care Crisis drew a crowd of over 200 Minnesotans including union members, small business owners, health care workers, community leaders, and concerned citizens.
Attendees, Congressman Ellison, and a panel of experts all came together for a vigorous debate on developing a national health care policy.
Although everyone presented diverse views on how to improve the nation's health care system, the audience reached a strong consensus that the need for reform is urgent, and that American families cannot afford to wait.
I am married to a Canadian. Before we were married, we were in Canada when she broke her leg and her wrist on a Saturday morning. Within a day she was in surgery. She spent a week in the hospital and then about 5 weeks in rehab. Total cost: $165 for a wheelchair rental. Sure there are the rich Tories in Canada that want to go back to the business model, but they don't dare. The people won't stand for it!
