Hello, and Welcome to another sneak peek into PlayStation Exclusives. This time we take a look at an awesome older music title, Gitaroo-Man.

Gitaroo-Man is a very awesome older game where you play as the boy U-1. U-1 is just another kid that is in love with a girl (Pico) and wants to gain her attention, but one of her frineds (Kazuya) does everything to make U-1 look like a fool in front of her, and U-1 just doesn't have the courage to tell her how he feels since he views himself as pathetic and not worthy. That's when Puma, U-1s faithful dog (that knows how to talk), teaches U-1 how to play the guitar.

From that point on you end up fighting off many bosses that want your Gitaroo powers and they are willing to do anything to get it. So you both play your instruments to see who is better. This is the only way for U-1 to realize that he does indeed have the power to show how he feels to Pico, and most importantly how to become the Gitarooman and save the world from Zowie, a man hell bent on destroying the world by beating U-1 and taking the last of the powers he needs. Its mainly a story about believing in yourself and being able to accomplish any task that you set your mind to. Really great storyline overall, and I loved every minute of it.

The graphics in this game are pretty simplistic but are still very neat to watch while you play as there are a lot of colors being used and it just has a great overall visual style that is different from most other games. This game just looks and feels unique IMO. The artwork to the game also just looks really awesome. I love the job that KOEI did with this game.

The music to the game is also very unique (done by COIL) and just sounds freaking awesome! You get tunes ranging from Rock n Roll, to Techno, to Jazz, to Reggie, to Heavy Metal etc etc... there seems to be just about every music genre involved in this game providing something for everyone. I can easily say if it wasn't for the great music the game wouldn't be the same. It's just so catchy and fun to listen to. It makes the game addictive to play.

The controls are spot on. There is really nothing else to say about the controls. You point in the direction the lines go and use the circle button to play the instrument. And when the Circle, Square etc appear on the screen you push the button as it hits the center of the screen. That's all there really is to it. Simple, fun, addictive, and it also got great reviews when it came out years ago. Also the difficulty is not overly hard but not too easy, it feels just right and has a nice learning curve. After you beat the game on hard you unlock Masters Play which is the most difficult mode.

Bottom line: If you have a PS2 or PS3 with B/C, and you like the music type of games, then I would recommend you go on ebay and buy this game! It is seriously one of my most cherished PlayStation 2 games, and I know it will become yours also after you play it! Gitaroo-Man is simply a fantastic voyage into a world full of music and entertainment. You just wont want to quit playing until you have saved the universe and made Pico your girl!

Frequency was awesome, but it had no storyline and IMO the music was also better on Gitarooman, but I will admit I really enjoyed Frequency. :)

Second Song on Master Mode hits more beats at the start sounds much better but i only could complete it like once when i had the game xD wish i stilll had my ps2 =(

Yeah, at first I thought I would not like it, so I downloaded a DVD-R version of the game to try out and see why so many people were seeding this strange game, then after I played the game I found out how fantastic it is and just had to buy it. It is now one of my most favorite PS2 games! The storyline and ending battles are just awesome! The music is just catchy and the gameplay is fun! Try it out sometime.
