We have taken our Original HAPI Drum and put it on a diet! The new HAPI Slim weighs in at only 7 pounds. The height has also been reduced to 6 inches tall and it's still a popular 12 inches wide, the same playing surface area as the Original HAPI Drum. This makes the SLIM our most portable and easy to carry drum. You won't think twice about taking your drum with you. It looks sleek and you can even grab it with one hand. Surprisingly for its smaller size, it has a powerful and full bodied sound. It may have lost some weight but there's no compromise on tone. The Slim comes in a variety of new scale choices, made possible because of its new smaller resonating chamber, and is only available in black which goes with everything!

I bought the E Akebono original size about 3 months ago, and I take it with me on every single business trip I go on. As an auditor for a CPA firm, I constantly get bombarded with overly stressful work days and long hours. But when I'm able to come back to the hotel room at night and pull this instrument out of the closet, I have this unordinate experience because there is such an ease of playing that comes along with playing a steel drum where you can't go wrong. I now spend every day waiting..
