WELS, ELC are really the only true Lutherans in the USA but the LCMS is close but they are going the way of the satanic ELCA.

@johnfraiser thank you so much, johnfrasier. I have been studying the works of Martin Luther and purchased a copy of the Small Catechism, which I have been following as part of my personal devotion time. I must say that I find both the literature and the service beautifully refreshing! I am also impressed by the Lutheran belief of Bible study and using the Bible to interpret the Bible. It leaves very little room for personal opinion and fad!

@pheonixfiresifi3 Yes, this is a faithful representation of a TRADITIONAL Lutheran service. Some Lutheran churches are fare less traditional. In my opinion, a confessing Lutheran church with traditional liturgical worship expresses the best of the Catholic church and the best of the Protestant church while avoiding the abuses many of the abuses of each. I was raised Southern Baptist, and I am now a Lutheran pastor.

My fiance was raised Catholic and I was raised Protestant (Southern Baptist). We are looking at the Lutheran church as a viable compromise between the two faiths. Is this a fair representation of a typical Lutheran service?
