  • How great was Orr? Not only could he outskate every other player, score impossible goals, play the defensive end like no other-He could also throw the fist with the best of them. If anything has ever been said trithfully, Bobby Orr was and remains the Best Hockey Player of all Time!! Thanks for the memories Bobby!

  • Give Orr credit. He didn't exactly pick easy guys to tangle with. Reg Fleming was one tough player. On the back of his 69-70 hockey card, he's called "the human mix-master". It's sad to see him in the state he's in now, but he seems to be handling his health problems the same way he played the game: With a lot of inner strength and courage.

  • I was always a Blackhawk's fan, but Bobby Orr is the greatest player I ever saw in my lifetime. I'm 55 now and I have to say the 60's and early 70's, was the most exciting time in hockey.

  • Bobby fought when he had to but was always a star.

  • Orr had over 40 fights during his 12-year career ... 44 or 47 fights, I forget -- but anyway, he lost only one. As shy as Bobby was, he wasn't a wimp but a tough kid who wasn't afraid of dropping his gloves and slugging it out.

Fighting wasn't what Bobby did most often of course -- anyone who's ever seen him play will tell you that have never forgotten it.

  • This was probably coaching film or film shot for a local New York 11 P.M. TV newscast (in the weeks prior to this incident, the New York local TV stations switched their local news and newsfilm to color).

  • Was this a retard doing the voiceover?

  • @bayardguy That's BS Orr was a TIGER! He would have killed Ray Conacher one night in Boston if his teamates hadn't intervened and Conacher take off after Conacher hit him with a stick. Just check out the highlights Orr kicked BUTT in every fight he was involved in

  • Bayardy, ya know, I watched a hell of a lot of Orr. He went when he wanted, did not ask or need help. Now, the way you got it's he's damned cause he fights, yet, you'd damn him as a lightweight if he never did, and went GRETZKY. So get it right.

  • Typical Fleming. Big , tough and also one of the dirtiest cheapshot assholes in the game. Another example here throwing bombs on Orr when they're tied up. Ya just don't shit like that. Oh, yeah, Fleming did. Piece of garbage.

  • @bayardguy

Thats how all fights were back then. Its not like Orr was just waiting for a fight where he had back-up.
