You can use ROYER ZVS resonant oscillator to supply the cockcroft-walton. royer is very efficient and capable of high frequency and power.

I own those same caps and have made a marx generator with them xD

blinking801 is right can we see a diagram or a walkthrough of the circut board (how many volts and what size capacitors)

The description states witch capacitors are used. As for the diagram, type in "voltage multiplier" in google, click on the link to wikipedia and look to the circuit diagram to the right with the title: "Villard cascade voltage multiplier".

Am I right in thinking that this is a Villard cascade multiplier?

Yes.

do you have a schematic for your circuit there? would be great to know more details. Good job by the way.

There isn't much of a circuit involved actually.
After a few attempts at building a efficient and cheap AC power source for a voltage multiplier, it appeared to be difficult to find the right transformer for the job. (high impedance and a 8:2000 ratio or so)
So I just bought a neon transformer used by pc modders. It's very cheap and provides about 1kV at a frequency in the range of 30kHz.
Look for a CCFL inverter.
The multiplier is the usual circuit. Search for voltage multipier in google.
