REMEMORIAS for guitar was written by Marlos Nobre in 1993 in three parts: 1. Embolada; 2. Cantilena; 3. Caboclinhos and is dedicated "in memoriam" to Michele Pittaluga. In the present recording EMBOLADA is played by Paulo Vinicius; CANTILENA by Fabio Shiro Monteiro; CABOCLINHOS by Marcos Victor Wagner, as the work was presented at the program "The Brazilian Guitar" produced by Fabio Zanon at Radio Cultural São Paulo. Rememorias means "remember" : the first part "Embolada" is a remembrance of Bach' Suite nº1 for lute, transformed by the composer. The "Cantilena" is based on the lamentations of old ladies on the Northeast of Brazil, and "Caboclinhos"is based on the folks of Recife' s Carnival.
