@MForde I so agree with you. I hate it when people that have never had the opportunity to be around or own one of these Amazing animals just make commients on how horrible they are. If you had the opportunity to meet and be around one, it would change our life. The fact that you have to earn their respect makes you respect them more. I love them. My first dog is going to be an Arctic wolfdog, I already decided on a breeder. They are Very high content and just wonderful.

It is sad that everyone buys these wonderful dogs on impluse thinking they are cool without doing the research and gaining experience with them before purchasing one. Do your research before you buy one on impluse and you just may save it's life later. Many wolfdogs in shelters are result from the impluse or the "cool factor" and once the owner realizes this animal is not like the loving dog across the street, they get rid of it. Owning a wolfdog should be a commitment, not an impluse.

@MForde Exactly. I own 3 wolves and I must say they have been more loyal than any other animal i have ever owned. They are terrified of strange people when they come to my house, they run and hide like scared babies and wait until i tell them that its alright and they are not in harm. I hate closed minded people that "assume" that they would automatically attack someone. there are more dog attacks reported than wolf attacks. So dont judge until you have been around to see how they really are =)

I had a wolf/mal hybrid for many years, and what mForde has said is entirely true. They are wonderful companions.

a wolfdog is a very special part of the family, and if a person is not prepared to include them as "family" then they should not get one, or any other animal, for that matter. They are extremely intelligent, very intense, and they need care and love from their human/s. If you cannot handle unstuffed furniture, chewing, digging, howling, etc, with good humor then please get an "easier to deal with" canine.

um i have a wolf hybrid and he's not aggressive.. he just eats a crap load lol
Maestro, you should learn about them before posting a comment implying that they are aggressive. Wolf dogs are in fact less aggressive than most normal dogs people own, they are more loyal to their families, and they are actually scared of strangers, meaning they'd rather hide from someone than attack them. The only time they would attack is if they were cornered and feeling threatened or if someone was hurting their family and they were defending them.
