Punjabi Poet Navtej Bharati's acceptance speech for the 2010 Anad Kav Tarang award given on November 28, 2010.

* The reference to Savitri is used in the speech - her dialogues with death are well know in Indian mythology. She wins her husband's life from the God of death.

* Mukti though translated as salvation is different than Christian salvation. The basic concept underlying mukti is that human life is in bondage on account of its own actions "karma". By attaining mukti, one has been liberated from suffering in the cycle of repeated death and reincarnation. It is a stage of "cosmic" completion or "salvation" to which all aspire.
