  • It could as well be the case that it's not his best jump of the competition that is shown. For Saneyev, his jump in this clip seems to be 17.07 instead of his best jump of the day of 17.24, if I have read the result screen right.

  • His jump looks about 16.75 to me. He completely collapses in the jump phase. This competition should have been won by Ian Campbell of Australia who had a 17.50 effort ruled a foul by the scrape judge (back when they had that rule) only after it was clear that it was a massive jump. Video footage revealed there was no scrape.

  • saneyev didnt even take vitamins let alone roids

  • Saneev was injured. He was the king of that sport. Noone as good as him.

  • @bossofalltime

Maybe because it's not even his best jump being shown. Uudmäe owned everyone.

  • Jaak Uudmäe is the best!!!

  • I remember reading that a French (neutral!) coach watching this event said that both Campbell & De Oliveira had jumps dubiously given as fouls that were further than the gold medal jump.

  • this jump from Uudmäe seen here, isn't the best jump. whole compilation sucks all the way...

    look at this youtube clip:

    /watch?v=INtpw6Sn3qg

that jump looks way better than shown here. although i agree with the fact, that the soviets cheated with the results very often...

  • makes me wish they hadn't picked moscow for the 2013 world champs :S

  • it was a dodgy comp all round, i have a feeling saneyev got dudded as well

  • joão do pulo esse era o cara!

  • João Carlos de Oliveira was ROBBED by soviets at Moscow. They changed the white flag to red, after they saw he made a big jump....

  • Joao Carlos De Olivera died in 1999 from complications of alcoholism.
