KDSS in the 2010 Toyota 4Runner - An array of advanced features, formerly only available in the Land Cruiser, further boosts off-highway capabilities. The Trail grade offers Toyotas Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) as an option. KDSS radically improves terrain-following ability by disconnecting stabilizer bars to allow for more axle travel, and better suspension articulation in slow, difficult terrain.

  • Those Asians really know how to make SUVs.

  • i love every year 4runner. it's been one my fav cars forever.

  • I'll stick w/ my old landcruiser and pathfinder.not too much eletronic system, all is manual..its more thrilling..

  • @SR5RunnerV6 They just need a sport version with a SC 5.7l v8. Thats will teach them stupid Chrysler chearleaders saying that the jeep GC is better. (shitrt/8 modles) I love my 88 v6 4runner though!! Also, have the 4.6 avaliable in Trail grade.

  • @2042nicky @rangerover06sc Toyota also looked at this and came up with A-TRAC, which is basically the same as transfering all the power to the other wheel like Traction, except it responds to really slow slippage and really locks the brakes on the wheel slipping for all 4 corners. But the Diff lock is definitely good aswell

  • i want to see this vs the 2011 gc

  • @IzZyTX1991 I would say KDSS is a good thing,it allows the 4Runner to perform well on and off road, and the Off Road version comes with a rear locking diff, and im not sure about this, but I think a lift kit would negatively affect KDSS, seeing how the system is designed to work best with its stock ride heigth

  • @rangerover06sc So now im confused.. Isthe kdss good or bad? Anddoes this come with lockers? Also how would a lft affect the kdss system?

  • @2042nicky Again though,it takes time to sense wheel slip and send up to 100% of the torque to the right wheel, also that type of diff doesn't responed well if the slipping wheel isn't conpletely off the ground.Although that type of diff has advantages, lockers is more relieable and will often work better.
