Wayne Bennett! Most under rated, under appreciated, guitar genius in American music. Listen to the raw and driving solo he takes in Bobby Bland's Wishing Well and you KNOW where Eric Clapton got his schooling before Mayall. Everybody learns from someone and a lot of people owe a huge debt to Wayne Bennett. A true virtuoso. Thanks so much from New Orleans for posting this!

True story: 1963, I was standing next to the stage watching Bobby Bland live with Pluma Davis Orchestra with Wayne Bennett on guitar. Being a young (17) guitarist, I was staring at Bennett's hands. He spotted me, flashed a smile and turned his body to give me a better view of his playing. Such a kind man. I've never forgotten that moment.

Many years ago, the company I worked for provided backline for most of the clubs in New Orleans.
I got to know Mr. Bennet pretty well setting up his gear for him in his later years. I'll never forget him.

thank you very much from the Bennett family. We loved uncle wayne with all our hearts, he was a very wonderful person, and talent. This video had me crying, i never thought i see my uncle playing in a club, but on visits he play every song we kids could think of, ok, again thank you from the bennett family. p.s. any jerry bennett out there.
