There are a couple good versions of this song out there. Roberta Flack sings it beautifully indeed- but I don't get chills and I don't feel it in my soul like my girl Lauryn's version. It is what it is.

That's what she's been trying to tell people. She's been away taking care of her family but people just want to make up stuff about she's crazy or on drugs. I guess a lie sounds more interesting than a boring mom running her kids around town. I'm glad you witnessed it. God bless her and her family.

About 2 years ago I pulled up to a Gamestop in N.J. next to a woman getting her kids out of a Navigator or some shit. I didn't really pay attention to her as I was shopping but as I heard her talking to her kids, asking them what they wanted, I noticed that her voice was very familiar. She was being helped by one of the employees when I made my purchase and as I turned to leave I glanced at her... it was Lauryn Hill... just buying video games for her kids like anyone else.
