"The doctrine of justification itself, as preached by an Arminian, is nothing but the doctrine of salvation by works." ...

- Charles Haddon Spurgeon

"I do not serve the god of the Arminians at all; I have nothing to do with him, and I do not bow down before the Baal they have set up; he is not my God, nor shall he ever be; I fear him not, nor tremble at his presence...The God that saith today and denieth tomorrow, that justifieth today and condemns the next...is no relation to my God in the least degree. He may be a relation of Ashtaroth or Baal, but Jehovah never was or can be his name." ...

- chs

"We only use the term "Calvinism" for shortness. That doctrine which is called "Calvinism" did not spring from Calvin; we believe that it sprang from the great founder of all truth. Perhaps Calvin himself derived it mainly from the writings of Augustine. Augustine obtained his views, without doubt, through the Spirit of God, from the diligent study of the writings of Paul, and Paul received them of the Holy Ghost, from Jesus Christ, the great founder of the Christian dispensation. We use the term then, not because we impute any extraordinary importance to Calvin's having taught these doctrines. We would be just as wiling to call them by any other name, if we could find one which would be better understood, and which on the whole would be as consistent with fact."

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them." Acts 16:14: "Lydia,...which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul."

  • Thinking you can loose your salvation must be a miserable life. Always trying to be perfect. Man that would suck. If you can loose your salvation I'm going to Islam. It's a total work based gospel.

  • @starkinsanya John 1:12-13 "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God."

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."

  • @starkinsanya 1 John 2:19 "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us."

Jude 1:24 "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy"

  • @starkinsanya crowns are rewards. there are no verses that speak of losing your salvation; there are verses that speak of falling from the Christian walk.

  • He doesn't want any to parish, but for all to have eternal life! We have a choice!!! If we are predestined then why does the bible say, be careful that you do not loose your crown of salvation? there are many other bible verses that talk about "loosing" your salvation...

  • Its interesting...people dont think a loving God could elect or choose...yet Ephesians says "IN LOVE HE PREDESTINED US"...Armenians...use your head and read the Word. That is all.

  • Lambplacething....arminians does not belive that they are save by Grace...because they belive the a Christian can lose their Salvation, and they have to do works to keep their Salvation firmily...remember the we are not save by works but of Grace.

  • I wish to be called nothing but a Christian - CH Spurgeon

  • @TheOringinalBRad Do you disagree with the doctrine of election and the 5 points of Calvinism or is it just the word Calvinism that you dont like? I know I dont like the word Calvinism because it confuses some who dont know enough about it. However, there is not 1 point that Calvin taught, that was not from the Word of God.

  • @TheOringinalBRad Wow, you said exactly what was on my mind.
