  • I am the one who revived this piece out of my mind and from beneath the ashes of time in 2006... and here it is now and for always as villa-lobos intended....

  • Yes, I thought Joan did a really good job with this song.

  • sometime ago I listened to Celine Imbert singing this song in the Square Peace, São Paulo. The afternoon was a little bit cold, the sun was almost setting and the moon was rising in the horizon. Oh, for a moment I felt was in paradise.

  • Thank you for this . My introductiun to Villa Lobos was an old creeky record from Joan Baez .It remans my favourite to this day...thanks a million for posting this

  • @fortepiano44

    well put ;-)

  • Es creo la pieza musical más emotiva que he escuchado.... El cello canta con ella... Y Joan Baez fantástica...

  • suave e como um passeio no campo...

  • This has always been a lyrical and fluent performance of this demanding work. The voice is flexible and conveys huge emotional energy with warmth and color It's a real treasure in the repertory to this composition. Bravo!

  • @wilnat48 Yes! She is wonderful! And listen to the Cello that "sings" with her! I love!

  • @wilnat48 I agree!!!!

  • oh boy that takes me back to being a teenager. i had this on vinyl - or rather, i kept "borrowing" it from a friend of my parents' (i.e. absconding with it) - and i would listen to it over and over and over ...

  • She nailed it to perfection. This is an impeccable interpretation, take it from a Brazilian Villa Lob bos fan.
