Build in the early 20th century these pump still do their work and are perfectly maintained to keep Friesland (part of the Netherlands) dry. Unesco site. First starting with a quick look at the steam boilers 4 in total.

  • Boilers are easy meat for the gypo's and scrapmen,the usually only have a lightly constructed building around them,the boilers just ge pulled out through the walls,hence most boiler houses are missing too.

  • OOOH!YUM,now thats a nice set of boilers and engines,for some unknown reason in the UK if were lucky the engine and house survive to be restored but the boilers are always missing etc,so most trusts oce the engine is restored have to do alot of work to find funds to get a boiler,The largest survivng beam engine in it's house in Poole ],cornwll,cant run as there is no steam plant
