Yo truecyrpt I know you always come through with the heaviest performances. So while at first I was disappointed that I preferred Arrau and Jorge Bolet on this one, It's become clear to me they got NOTHING on this here Tamarkina. This is ball-gripping. Your work here is proving educational. keep it up.

Her sound is amazing! Is this what we call "talent" or she learned to produce this sound in the music schooll or taught correctly by her teacher? I ask that because I noticed in YouTube that generaly the pianists of the "russian" school having a very special and beautiful sound (I mean it in a good way).

Utterly glorious, as fine Liszt playing as I suspect we will ever be priviledged to hear. She turns a tiny, essentially Italianate lyric masterpiece into an epic one, and finds more music and subtely than would have scarcely thought possibile. Piano playing & musicianship of the very highest order!

Thank you very much !

Pour ne pas aimer cela il faut ne pas aimer la musique, voilà tout!

Thank you!. One of my favorite pieces in all of Liszt and this delivers everything. I think the remark about masculine playing is well taken. The poem is a man's (Petrarca) list of felt contradictions - ending with, "I am this way, my lady, because of you." In that respect the straightforward boldness is my ideal. But to do it like Rosa did it is surely very special! WOW.

I don't know for sure, but sounds like a Steinway...
Bechsteins have softer "initial" impulse of the tone... hope you understand what I mean...
