Trees That Please is known across the Southwest as the grower of high desert trees, the best low water trees for our climate and soil. Trees That Please is also Valencia County's Full Time Year Round Nursery, located across from the Tome Hill on Highway 47. We are dedicated to using an organic only program and therefore chemicals that fail to meet the USDA NOP benchmark for organic approval are not sold or used in our nursery. There are likely over 1 million trees in landscapes all over New Mexico, the Southwest and the Rocky Mountain Region that have been propagated and grown by Trees That Please over the past several decades. Soil Secrets LLC is a company that evolved from the research and development done by Michael Martin Meléndrez -founder and owner of Trees That Please, along with other professional staff members of Michael's business. With Trees That Please, Michael's other business called Soil Secrets is recognized across North America and into many other countries for offering soil amendments and biological soil inoculum products that meet the highest efficacy standards in the industry and has been awarded recognition for this achievement by several institutions of science. Today the products of Soil Secrets can be purchased across the continent and can be viewed at www.soilsecrets.com. Michael is often in demand as a speaker at conference's put on by the USDA, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Oak Society, the Native Plant Societies of the west, the United States Green Building Council's State Chapters and many more organizations. Along with Trees That Please and Soil Secrets, Michael has developed over the past 22 years the Arboretum Tomé, a botanical garden with a huge species collection of the genus of oaks -- the Quercus. The arboretum has thousands of trees with many native to the Chihuahuan Desert Region of the Southwest, along with many rare, endangered and very exotic species from all over the world. Each year the Arboretum Tomé is visited by plant and soil scientists from all over the world, many to work with Michael and some to see his tree collection.

  • Awsome project Mr. Melendez. 5 stars

  • Thanks, and yes New Mexico is an awesome and undiscovered State. And have you seen the campus of New Mexico State University? It's the largest and most beautiful university campus in the United States with the spectacular Organ Mountains rising 5000 feet into the air on the east side of the city of Las Cruces, home of NMSU. I've been all over the country and New Mexico cannot be beat for beauty.

  • I went to the northern part of the state. Taos, Angel Fire, and then to Alberquergie. That was the one time I went, and I will be going back as soon as I can. Thank god there are people trying to teach the truth of our soil.

  • Next time in New Mexico, check out the Gila National Forest and Wilderness of Southern NM. It's larger in size then all the National Forest of Northern NM combined. It's also the first wilderness area of the United States started by Aldo Leopold himself who lived and worked there for most his adult years. If your into soils and plants, Southern NM is much more diverse and green then Northern NM, check it out. Also check out Rodales video on 'Organic Solution'.
