  • My great grandfather was hit by a streetcar in st Louis in 1902 still have the newspaper article!

  • we had the largest fleet of PCC's in North America in Toronto and our transit commision fuked up and let them rust and rot in 1989.

  • Some of those PCCs were in the movie were first purchased and placed into service in June of 1940. My username here represents one of the last batches of streetcars St. Louis Public Sevice bought. Taking those lines out of service was a very stupid thing for St. Louis to do. Maggiano's Little Italy in Richmond Heights plays the music of the streetcar era. The restaurant is just a block or two west of where the old transfer loop was for routes 01 and 11.

  • Sadly we life in a man eat man culture. People are rude and selfish. Thanks for this glimpse to a bygone era in STL histoyr.

  • oh thanks for posting I enjoyed it.

  • I remember it too. I rode them. 60 now. they were great

  • A time lost forever! I am glad I remember it! Thanks for posting.
