you're right man, people need to grow up and stop insulting drummers who are just trying to teach others necessary techniques for being a successful jazz drummer. no matter how easy or boring they may seem, they are still important and should be learned

The comment that you originally replied on says that it sounds more like a rock feel. Whether it feels like jazz or rock has little to do with the size of one's bass drum but more to do with the drummer's timing and touch on the kit. If it sounds like a rock feel, the drummer is probably attacking the bass drum too much. And since he's demonstrating a bass drum technique, he's probably done it on purpose. Can we all stop being so critical? The guy is sharing knowledge for FREE.
